This is my second SwitchBot unit. Had pretty good results with the first one, so figured this one was even better.

Setup really couldn't be easier. I have an expandable rod, but I put a little tape over the transition and it's doing okay with it.

Really like this addition in my journey into the 21st century. Its such a neat device to be able to control the curtains on my door in my living room. It was a little funky getting it added to homeassistant since the device is so new but it does work now and does exactly what I want. It's great

Ive been looking for something to help bring in natural sunlight in the morning and of course there are expensive automatic blinds. So I came across these curtain openers and I love them! I have it set in the morning to open automatically (I like the slow, quiet drive feature) and I also have them set to close at night. Everything has been running smoothly. I even have a rod that has some indents in it and the bot goes over them (with noise, but no other issues). Definitely an affordable alternative to automatic blinds/shades!

This is now my favorite smart home product. Nothing beats waking up to natural sunlight each morning, and I don't have to worry about closing my curtains before going to bed. SwitchBot is compatible with all of the services which is so hard to find. I set up using the Home Assistant integration and it has been working flawlessly via Local Push. I'm a renter so this is perfect if you can't or don't want to install new motorized blinds. I was expecting to need to charge way more frequently but I've only charged once. You can tell this device has gone through multiple iterations because almost everything is right here, which is hard to say for a lot of smart home products.

I love this thing! I use it to open my curtains in the morning to wake me up before my alarm goes off. Such a better way to wake up. I also like how it closes automatically at night.

The curtain in my five-year-old's bedroom is too tall and bulky for him to open and close, which is frustrating for him and means that his room is often left in darkness. I bought a single SwitchBot as an experiment, to see whether it would actually be able to open and close one side of the curtain.

It took me perhaps 30-60 minutes to set up the device. Most of that time was spent threading a beaded chain through the curtain gromets. It took another 15 minutes to figure out how to calibrate the device, because the instructions didn't quite match the app display, and there was a sticky magnet to position on the curtain rod.

But once all this was done, the device performed as promised. It was pretty awesome actually to see the little robotic doohickey patiently but persistently move the curtain to open position, then back to close position. I handed the remote control to my kid, who promptly made the curtain open and close one hundred bajillion times. "It's perfect!" he called out.

I bought a second SwitchBot for the other side of the curtain, which also worked great.

I am happy to recommend this product. It does what it claims, and it's both useful and fun once you get it working.

It works great with Alexa. I installed it behind my curtain so you cant see it from the room.
